This week-long online event will gather the design education community to take stock of where we are, what we have learned, and what we want to do next.
New York, NY—From August 2–6, AIGA’s Design Educators Community, will host SHIFT{ed}, a virtual summit for design educators.
Last year the AIGA Design Educators Community organized the SHIFT Summit to explore the ways educators were shifting within and amidst the chaos of 2020, pivoting and changing course even while the world was rapidly changing around us. AIGA’s Design Educators Community wants to revisit these themes one year later to find out how we have SHIFT{ed}, if we are still SHIFT{ing}, and the ways we must continue to SHIFT.
This year the summit will focus on the themes of teaching, research, and community. It will feature multiple ways for participants to engage with each other and the content—including asynchronous presentations, synchronous panels, presentations, and virtual roundtables, online forums for discussion, and more.
“In 2021, we are continuing to explore ways that design educators are pivoting to accommodate our changing education environments and the world around us,” said Liese Zahabi, AIGA Design Educators Community SHIFT{ed} Conference Chair. “We hope you’ll be able to join us and continue this conversation, learn from each other, and find new ways to shift our focus and engagement.”
