AIGA’s Design Adjacent Podcast Extends the Horizons of Design and Innovation

New York, NY—Design is about storytelling, conveying messages and concepts. With AIGA’s new Design Adjacent podcast, we want to share those stories about the in-between spaces which design inhabits and how design is a force for change. AIGA Design Adjacent is about the place where design and story intersect and create greater impact. 

How can we help make our world better, more sustainable, more inclusive? We have those conversations, we explore the adjacent space. Join us on this journey and delve into how design is making our world better and how those adjacent to design are changing the ways in which we think about design and our world. 

The first episode of the AIGA Design Adjacent with Bennie F. Johnson premieres on October 19. Geared toward design professionals, industry leaders, C-Suite executives, and anyone interested in designing the future, this podcast invites listeners to approach innovation through collaborative connection. Design Adjacent asks the question, what are the current landscapes and future horizons of innovation? 

“Over the last year, we’ve been listening to the professionals who are working through and with design talk about the value of design, what it brings to our world, and how it shapes the future,” said AIGA Executive Director Bennie F. Johnson. “I wanted to be able to share these stories with a wider audience, and from that small idea, this podcast was born. I hope you enjoy these fascinating stories and wide-ranging conversations touching on topics of strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, legal, blockchain, and even Broadway.”

First guests will run the gamut from leading artists, curators, and designers to technology experts to discuss both the current landscape and future horizons of innovation.
